European country1 by the French Revolution during its initial and later Napoleonic form (Grew, 1999). The period between 1815, following the Congress of Vienna, and 1832 saw a large number
of changes which would have ramifications for a long time after. To understand the events between 1815 and 1830 and influence the French Revolution and of Congress of Vienna it
is essential to briefly consider the period before this. Italy has changed dramatically as a result of the French Revolution. The Italians received the French Walmley in 1796 and the
upper classes of northern Italy immediately adapted and wrote constitutions for the Cisalpine and Cispadane republics (Grew, 1999). Italy participated in a form of civil reform and creation of many
new political structures which spread with a standing ease, supported by French arms, throughout Italy all the way to Rome, where there were attempts to create civil authorities that will
autonomous from the aristocracy and the Church of Rome (Grew, 1999). When considering the impact of the French Revolution on Italian society in the period following 1815 it is important
to consider these changes as the administrative, judicial, education, and military systems which have been put in place by the French were retained even after the restoration governments of 1815
