principles we strive to learn and assimilate in the United States can be detrimental in other settings, at least initially. Specifically, the notion that all people are basically the
same in that we share the same basic needs and goals is legitimate when used in a social perspective. It is useful in the business setting as well, as
long as that setting is within the United States. This is not to say that the approach is not useful in other national settings, and it is not meant
to mean that expatriate US managers should not strive to achieve the same ends in offshore sites of multinational enterprises. What it does
mean is that there are decided differences in cross-cultural expectations of business structure relative to the US and Mexico. A manager coming into either country experienced with his own
culture will find conditions quite different, though worker motivations may be highly similar. Riordan will need to define its approach to expanding to Mexico and ensure that it stays
on its prescribed path. Organizational Structure Changes Recommended Structure Riordans current organizational structure will need to be changed to accommodate the Mexico site.
The new site could be added to an existing division existed, but this expansion will be Riordans Mexican debut. Riordan does have an International division that oversees and
