solutions existing customers need and to expand their customer base (Tavangaran, 2010; Riordan Manufacturing, 2009). Their strategic plan to accomplish their mission is to leverage technology with innovation and through
that, to earn a healthy profit. The company has been successful in their efforts. Quality Control Plan Riordan Manufacturing has a strong focus on customer relations and customer
satisfaction. The companys major customers are beverage makers, bottlers, aircraft manufacturers, appliance manufacturers and the Department of Defense. When their sales began to decline, the company adopted a new customer
relations management system (BrainMass, Inc., 2009). To complement that system, the company changed its sales processes from individual salespeople to sales teams. Each team focused on a specific segment of
their customer base. The sales team is not comprised solely of salespersons, instead, each team includes a product engineering specialist, a sales person and a customer service representative (BrainMass, Inc.,
2009). This multifunction approach was deemed to be a system that truly focused on customer satisfaction. Riordan has many quality control measures in place. The company is known for its
