most documented in American history. Some of that documentation is a factual report of the facts of Nixons actions and others take considerable liberties with those facts, emphasizing the
less than commendable aspects of the man and his political maneuvers. Nixon racked up quite a reputation, after all, as one of the less virtuous of American politics.
Indeed, the American public nicknamed Nixon "Tricky Dick" as a result of his shadier side of public administration. When considering the man, his actions, and the documentation of those
actions, however, we must remind ourselves that Nixon was truly a complex man, a man whose actions were shaped not only by his own personality but also by the circumstances
of the time. Nixons childhood itself, a childhood governed by strict Quaker parents and riddled by various hardships such as the death of
his two brothers from the dreaded disease tuberculosis, is fascinating. Indeed, Nixon managed to begin to make his mark on the world at an early age. By far
the most interesting aspects of this man occurred during his latter years in political office, however. There is no contesting the fact that Nixons reign in the presidential office
marked a critical point in history, that time when such qualities as honor and integrity were just beginning to take the downward spiral to the point that they have reached
today. The facts surrounding Richard Milhous Nixon, however, are in reality, considerably more complex than many of us realize. Nixon
