one of the most overlooked authors of his time. His work was unique and incredibly descriptive in terms of simple imagery. One of his short stories, "The World War I
Los Angeles Airplane" is a short story about his father-in-law, a man who has just died at the beginning of the story. The following paper examines three different hardships the
man experienced in his life and they affected his life. The World War I Los Angeles Airplane Brautigans father-in-law was a man who lived a life that was
perhaps similar to the lives of many simple ordinary individuals in his time. He was a poor boy from a farm, leaving home to make a living, having dreams, and
in the end dying in front of the television in a rented house. It is a sad story, but yet a story that illustrates that although this man may not
have been famous or even truly interesting, he was a human being and deserves to be recognized and remembered. There were many events in this mans life that cause
him to develop in good and then bad ways. With each positive change seems to come bad change. He is successful in one thing, and then finds that in relationships
at the same time he is not successful, such as the relationship with his grandfather and a wife. In terms of three specific events, or times in his life, we
focus on, the First World War when he was a fighter pilot, the loss of his job as a bank director, and his "televisionism." With some adventure and success
behind him he became a fighter pilot in the First World War. While it was a brave and romantic task, it was also a task that would haunt him all
