his time searching for things regarding his own identity, which many can see as a combination of American and African and white and black. His childhood was primarily spent being
raised by his mothers parents in Hawaii where he generally encountered many of the struggles that afflict most teenagers. But as he grew he became more curious about his father
and his heritage. He travels off to college and begins his education but also furthers his education by traveling to Africa and meeting his family in Africa. He learns that
he father was not necessarily the man he envisioned him to be, but someone to be proud of, despite the fact it seems that he had a family in Africa
as well. Obama was able to truly delve into his character, and understand more about where he came from, while also learning something about people of different cultures and the
struggles that people go through. He witnessed, first hand, people who live without any kind of plumbing, living in conditions that would not really exist in the United States. It
