well established link between child poverty and many of societies ills. In the survey presented by the student the importance eliminating child poverty is assessed with a sample respondent group
of 20. Looking at this sample group, it is unlikely that this is going to be a stratified group representative of the entire population and as such some statistical
measures would be inconclusive. The group are not evenly spread between male and female, with a slightly higher weighting of the gender coded as 2, the females, s there
were 9 male respondents and 11 female. It appears there is a wide age range as the range is over three groups, and the mean is given as 3 and
the standard deviation as 0.915. However, there is a high level of concentration with ten respondents in the age 36 - 45 age group.
Education levels appear to be skewed with a range of 3, but a mean of 2,7, but a median and a mode of 3. In society there is
a skewing, but this should be noted as unlikely to unusual social skewing as 9 respondents have a bachelors degree, this is a higher level of education is regularly under
20% of the population (The Business Journal-Milwaukee, 1999). With an understanding that this sample is unlikely to be representative of the population of the area. However, there are some
areas where there appears to be an overall agreement. The coding has taken place with a scale that 1 indicates a very high classification and 5 is a very low.
Firstly we will look at the answers to each question. The first question asked concerned the level of priority that the respondents attached to legislative aims at reducing child
