be the means through which we can establish true objective facts and relationships. The scientific method, however, employs not just the hard quantifiable method of deduction, it also employs
the less objective method of induction. The intent is for observations to be made and valid conclusions reached from those observations. The process of induction, however, is largely
a process of intuition. This introduces room for error in the scientific method. When we couple that with sometimes less than noble intentions on the part of the
scientists that induce conclusions from scientific data, the possibility increases that the conclusions that are reached with not be entirely valid. If any one area of modern science illustrates
this fact today it is the science surrounding climate change. For decades we as a society have been informed by the
scientific community that not only are we experiencing progressive world wise changes in climate but that our increased reliance on gasoline powered engines and specifically the burning of fossil fuels
such as coals, oils, and natural gas are causing those changes. According to scientific theory these types of activities have resulted in carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbon
emissions that have accumulated in the atmosphere over time and this accumulation has negatively impacted the stratospheric ozone shield. These gases absorb heat. The result is that heat
can no longer escape from our atmosphere as effectively as it once did. This couples with clear cutting that removes trees that actually serve to decrease atmospheric carbon dioxide
levels. The result is the progressive global climate change that we refer to as global warming. Thanks primarily to 2009 unearthing of
