Ms. Brown, has found out quite by accident that Mr. Jones is being treated by the company doctor for drug addiction. That isnt the concern, because the company supports those
of its employees who admit they are addicted and seek help. The problem is that in the course of treatment, Dr. Younger prescribed a certain medication used only in these
cases; Mr. Jones has the prescriptions filled himself and then requests reimbursement. Mr. Montana, the accounting supervisor, let slip that he was tired of these "trivial" cases but at least
Jones was no longer bothering him with reimbursement requests. Then he suddenly grew anxious and said not to mention what hed said to anyone. Ms. Brown did some research and
uncovered the whole story, which is between Dr. Younger and Mr. Jones. The fact that Mr. Jones is no longer requesting reimbursement means that either he has decided to pay
for the drug himself, he has recovered to the point where he no longer needs it, or he is using drugs again and has abandoned treatment. Theres no way to
know. Ms. Brown could dismiss it except for the fact that Mr. Jones is a heavy equipment operator. If he is using again and is impaired while on the job,
he could cause serious injury, even death, and/or great property damage. Should Ms. Brown tell the CEO that she feels its possible that Mr. Jones is taking drugs again, there
by violating both his privacy and the confidentiality of the doctor/patient relationship? Or should she remain quiet and hope that hes not buying the medication because he no longer needs
