and reliable (Kerlinger, 1986). When determining the way that the design will help to improve the validity to the results the first consideration may be the approach that is
used, in this case there was the use of questionnaires that are used with a range of closed answers aimed that the customers and potential customers of the store with
questions to assess their purchases. In order to assess the potential ways that increases in an own brand may be undertaken during the recession it is important to look
at the shopping process and how customers patterns of purchases are taking place and changing. The way in which validity may be protected can be seen initially with the
way that the sample is chosen (Flick, 1998), making sure that the sample are the companies target market, if the sample has large numbers of individuals who do not fit
