as a result of the conscious mind deciding to delete an unpleasant memory from our minds or the fading of mundane events that have been responsible for shaping creating a
faded and generic memory of the events. The specificity of the events may fade, but the impact is lasting, regardless of if
they are remembered or forgotten. Then there are then important events, those that are remembered for many years, with the belief that the memory still recalls all the details
as if it were yesterday. Kersi is the narrator in a series of stories written by Rhinton Mistry called "Tales from Firozsha Baag". We will argue that this is
a book made up of different types of remembering and forgetting and indicates the way in which these are emphasised the most important elements of the creation of our personalities
and characters and is told in an autobiographical manner. Kersi is the narrator and as such is seen as a common
thread through the stories if we look at the role of the narrator it is all and exercise of memory and forgetting, seeing what has been remembered and what he,
or others around him have forgotten, either by choice or as a result of personality development. The book is a series of short stores based on the lives of
people living in an apartment block. The individuals are Parsis who live in a poor rundown apartment block in Bombay. This is
