that was quickly overtaken by white Europeans, with the native people being pushed into uninhabitable regions of the country, if not killed. Many tribes that were once a part of
this land no longer exist and others struggle with their identity. The following paper examines the condition of Native Nations and Native people in this land, how they are treated
differently for the most part than any other culture or ethnicity in the United States. Native Nations and Native People One
of the primary reasons why the Native Nations and Native peoples are treated so differently than other cultural groups is because they were here first. They appeared to the Europeans
in control as primitive and ignorant and thus easily dismissed as unworthy of notice, save to get rid of them for the benefit of the people immigrating to the new
land. Because they did not understand how to play by the same rules as the Europeans they were quickly destroyed in many cases, as the Europeans felt this was their
new land. If the natives did not protect it like Europeans would protect England or France from invaders, then they did not perhaps deserve to have any power in the
new land. The Native Nations and people exist in a very different social, religious, and political world than much of the rest
of the nation, even now. This is because they have been, throughout the European history of this land, abused, dismissed, exterminated, and ignored. And, in addition, to recognize them now
