of Lady Macbeth that the reader or the viewer sees the weaknesses and desires of Macbeth and it is through Lady Macbeth that the plot thickens as she pushes Macbeth
to force the prophecy into realization. The following paper examines the relationship between the two, as well as their characteristics, as it involves the story and the development of the
story. Relationship Between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth In the beginning of the play Macbeth is seen as a noble and honorable man. He is a good soldier and
does his job. He is seen as brave by his fellow soldiers and in essence one sees him as a good man. He is told a prophecy that he will
be king one day. He tells his wife, despite the fact he gives little credence to the prophecy, and she immediately becomes consumed by this prophecy: "Lady Macbeth is ecstatic
and she fixes her mind on obtaining the throne for Macbeth by any means necessary" (Mabillard). From this simple introductory examination it is clear that Macbeth is a simple
man, a brave men, but still a relatively simple man who is not consumed with the desire to be more. He may be curious, even tempted, but he will not
do anything on his own t fulfill the prophecy. He is obviously a man with some hidden or subconscious desire to be more or he would not fall victim to
his wifes nagging. One author notes that Lady Macbeth "is sure that because Macbeth is an ambitious man, he has entertained the thought of killing Duncan, no doubt several times"
