paper considers a modern re-telling of the tale with the idea of pitching it to a Hollywood producer for a new film. The essential parts of the story that must
be retained are these: the scientist who pushes himself too hard to achieve his goal without considering the consequences; his success and immediate repudiation of that success; and the "fallout"-in
the book, that includes the creatures murderous rampage, which may or may not be a good choice for a contemporary take. Lets go with an older actor for Frankenstein
rather than a young man. This is someone who has repeatedly tried and failed to make his mark. That would give the actor a great deal to play with: his
frustration, the endless disappointment; his own self-doubts and waning self-esteem; as well as the reactions of his family and friends. Perhaps they were supportive of his efforts at first, but
now, some 30 or 40 years down the road, theyre simply tired of listening to his recitation of failure, as well as hearing about how its never his fault. This
experiment, then, is in the nature of one final try to solve the mystery hes been working on for his entire career. If hes available, Michael Caine, who can do
anything and make it believable, would be fantastic. If hes not available, Harvey Keitel would also be good in the role; Richard Chamberlain could be a third excellent choice. All
three actors are now in their 70s and despite the fact that they have had successful careers, they can all undoubtedly relate to an older man who has not achieved
his dream. It also seems that the logical choice for what the mechanism will be is cloning. Frankenstein is attempting to clone someone or something, and has failed miserably, Dolly
