production as affected by management regime, published in Agricultural Systems looks specifically at this problem, first justifying how and why this is a subject that needs to be studies, the
paper then presents the findings of a reseach project explaining how the reseach was undertaken and the results that were produced (Lovett et al, 2006). In this paper we
will summarize the article and then consider the results before giving a neutral opinion. The paper starts with the background to the research which shows why the emissions from
the dairy industry are an important area of study. In Europe the agriculture industry accounts for about 10% of all GHG emissions (Lovett et al, 2006). The level of
emission by each country is variable, for example, in Luxemburg the level is only 3.1% of emissions, the highest level is found in Ireland, where it accounts for 27.2% of
GHG emissions, this makes Irish dairy farms a good area for the study of the emission in dairy farms (Lovett et al, 2006).
