This essay discusses the concept of redemption beginning with explanations of the different forms of redemption. The concept of redemption in the Bible is demonstrated through numerous verses from both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Redemption Definitions Redemption means "either strictly deliverance by payment of a price or ransom, or simply deliverance by power, as from oppression, violence, captivity, etc." (Gigot). In the Old Testament, redemption may be of persons, animals or property.
