plea and chalk it up to those "environmentalists." However, we must know that we are all environmentalists because we, especially as Americans, are responsible for using more resources than the
planet puts out. We can only use so much aluminum because there is only so much aluminum on the earth. We can only use so much paper and wood because
there are only so many trees on the earth. People may well argue that we can plant more trees, but the truth is that we consume far more than is
possible to replant in order to keep up. And by devastating forests we also take away the oxygen we need to breathe. As human beings it is important that we
stop believing the world will just constantly give us what we "want" forever. Most of us would not simply throw trash around our house, assuming it would go away. And
most of us would not start stripping our walls and our homes, pulling trees and plants from our yard for consumption, assuming it would grow back on its own. We
should not think this way about the planet either, for it is also our home. Recycling Recycling is but one way to reduce the consumption of the planet.
Through recycling we take products that have been used, break them down to their original components, and reuse them. We can recycle newspapers and other paper products to make more
paper. We can recycle plastics to make more plastics. It is perhaps important to note that plastics is something the planet does not produce. People can argue that we will
never run out of plastic because it is man made. But plastics are dangerous because the planet will not decompose plastics because they are not natural products. As such if
