to get work experience there is a common interest, especially for students of a relevant course. However, there are some possible problems; a student undertaking a work placement as part
of a course may be motivated and want to gain a great deal of experience and value, but in many cases it may be the first job they undertake, they
may lack some of the basic skills needed for employment due to a lack of experience or exposure to a workplace environment. There may be a lack of commitment, seeing
the task as needed in order to complete the course rather than an appreciation of the value and the skills or attitude may vary dependant on the individual student, just
as with any recruitment of non student employees. 2. Required Skills If a company is using some placement student it is possible that they are undertaking a different recruitment
process, assuming that they will have certain skills. However, recruitment of this type of employee should be aligned with usual recruitment strategies so that students with the required skills and
attitude are attracted and recruited. The approach has to be with consideration given to the recruitment process itself, however, there is also an interdependence with many other areas of human
resource strategies, including the way employees are treated and motivated and the reward structure. These latter issues may help a good employer to attract the type of applicants they wish
to recruit and many give them more choice. We will assume that the hotel company will use the recruitment strategy outlined below to come up with a specification which
