it is implement and its ability to maximize the use of the data that is available and its success in meeting the goals set for the system (Wagner and
Monk, 2008). This recommendation will look at why an ERP system is being recommended and the way in which it should be implemented. The basic ideas behind an
ERP system is that it is able to integrate the different parts of the companies and their systems in order to create a single system that can be used to
access the different software sources that can include all of the companys departments from finance to human resources (Wagner and Monk, 2008). ERP may be described as
"A cluster of standard functional modules (e.g. accounting, payroll, customer relationship management, manufacturing resources planning, logistics, etc.) connected to a single database. Where any two modules are
integrated within a single system, it is considered as an ERP system." (Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, 2009). This can be seen
as a development from the older systems where the is a more static and less integrated system can be used, this means companies have a greater level of control, and
as such we can start to see why there is the added value and knowledge is values as this enables the company to adapt and maximize modern resources. The
value, when it is created in the sales division will not be as a result of the product itself, like any tool the value is the way it is used.
