Such activity is looked upon as fun. Hackers often impede businesses simply to see if they can. It is the challenge that motivates them. Thus, people are more accepting of
such sabotage because they look upon the hackers, who are usually young and bright, as being clever. And while some cyber crimes are serious, it seems that things are cleaned
up and business as usual resumes. That said, cyber crimes cost businesses money and so it is important for establishments to protect their systems with hardware and software in order
to make transactions safe. According to Westby (1998): " The single most important factor in securing the availability, confidentiality and integrity of government data and networks
is to have a complete security policy." Of course, that statement is applicable to most any type of system today in both government and the private sector. The author
also points out that a single piece of software or hardware will not be effective (1998). Rather, there must be a change in thinking in network administrators. Systems need protection
and this may include investigation of employees, changing passwords for employees regularly as opposed to leaving the responsibility to the individual, and tracking sites visited by employees. Cyber spyware is
available for some tasks, but much will likely be done outside of the the technological domain. And while there are a lot of things on the market, some believe that
