task of comprehension. As this indicates, strategies to facilitate achieving reading fluency are essential. Five Fluency-building strategies Repeated reading : This is a strategy, helps readers to obtain
fluency (Welsch 180). The students read a pre-selected passage aloud until a specified level of fluency is obtained, or the student may be required to read the passage a specific
number of repetition, i.e., between 3 to 5 times (Welsch 180). Repeated reading, with the teacher previewing the material: In this strategy, the teacher will first model fluency
by reading aloud to the students. This "listening preview" affords the students the opportunity to hear the selection or passage prior to addressing it as instructional material, while also exposing
the students to the "vocabulary, phrasing and context" of the passage before reading it themselves (Welsch 180). A variation of this strategy is to have a proficient peer model the
reading with fluency. Paired reading : In this strategy, a student is paired with either another student who is reading fluently or with the teacher and the passage is
read aloud together (Welsch 180). This strategy actively engages the learner for a longer period of time in oral reading than the more traditional approach of having students read
aloud in a "round-robin" fashion, that is, each student reading a short passage in-turn. Word drill : After noticing what words are missed during the initial readings of the
