a tapestry of different races and cultures. We pride ourselves on equality of the gender, equality of the social classes, and equality of the races. We have even
elected our first black president. Despite those facts, however, our society remains stifled by racism. Sometimes that racism comes from completely unexpected sources. That fact is enunciated
quite well by a recent article in the National Review titled "Its here. Criticism of President Obama, which is increasing, is said to be racist--said to be racist by the
likes of Jimmy Carter and Maureen Dowd". Interestingly, however, its not the critics of President Obama indicts but rather the Obama administration itself! As is the case
with anyone that has served as President of the United States, Baraq Obama has received some criticism. The difference between this criticism and past criticism of our presidents, however,
is that Obama is our first black president and the powers that be dont like that criticism and have, on more than one occasion, attributed it to racism. Given
that Obama was elected by a primarily white vote it would seem that charges of racism would be the last thing on this administrations mind. As the National Review
article points out, however, the Obama camp has a rather lengthy history of playing the race card. The National Review article asserts that one of the most memorable
examples of the Obama camp playing the race card occurred well before he had taken office. They played it against the Clintons when it seemed that Hillary was
taking the lead in the race for the presidency. "The Clintons?" one might ask in confusion. Wasnt Bill Clinton once proclaimed (despite his obvious whiteness) our nations first
