published we can consider how racism and sexism may still manifest in the press. The advisements are for a Missy Elliott show called "The Road To Stardom", the second advertisement
features Jessica Simpson. The Road to Stardom. This advertisement has the image of Missy Elliott in the front left hand corner, and across the middle and top is
the image of a tour bus. The bus is full of people, mostly young and attractive. Therefore we already have some social stereotypes satisfied. Looking at the numbers of
whole, the majority are black, there also appear to be more male that female occupants1. There appear to be thirteen occupants, with only three of four being female. Of the
total number on the bus it appears there are only two or three who are white, and these are located at the front and back of the coach, in effect
separated by location. If we look at the people the most dominant image may be the male figure who is in the
middle of the coach wearing a white jacket. This individual may be seen as fulfilling one of the stereotypes of a black male, larger than average with a sports jacket.
Further forward is anther stereotype image, the black man with gold chains and a baseball cap. This individual appears to be standing although this would not be possible with
the placement of the image, this empathies the false images which are placed inside a coach. It is also interesting to note that despite coaching coming in many colours,
this coach is white. If we analyses the way in which this can be interpreted, with the majority of the occupants being black, this is sending a message regarding the
