flaws and most admirable abilities. Written in a narrative style which propels the reader forward, Ishmael is able to address some of the more pressing problems of the modern era

pg.1). Given this first statement, then, it is not difficult to see illustrated many of the romantic elements which are present in the storys fiber and is part of what
gives the novel its dramatic impact. After the protagonist reads the above ad in the newspaper, he is astounded. Later, after having thrown the paper away, he cant get the
phrase out of his mind. What kind of nut writes something like that? Determined to find out, he responds. When he goes down to the address listed for the ad,
he finds a very ramshackle office building. In the very back of this building, near some loading docks is the offices address. His decision to enter the sparsely furnished room
and what he sees on the other side of the plate glass window will impact his life and others lives forever. The individual who has placed the ad in the
paper is none other than a telepathic gorilla. Suspend judgment if you will. Call the Gorilla, Ishmael. With this sweeping and mysterious beginning the strands of Romantic elements are subtly
present. For example, one defining characteristic of the Romantic poet, such as Wordsworth, was the use of nature as teacher. The Gorilla named, Ishmael, begins to share with Quinn how
