In this paper, the writer is being asked to assume the President of the United States (POTUS) is giving a speech at her resort as part of a major
fundraiser. Needless to say, having the leader of the free world at a fund-raising event involves more than simply having a few policemen and policewomen on duty while he takes
the stage to speak. Ensuring the Presidents safety before, during and after the event requires a solid risk assessment plan, along with contingency response.
Risk assessment is a process used by business and organizations to help provide focus on critical areas of concern, while allowing them to prioritize use of resources to
maximize response, if necessary (Risk Assessment Matrix Process). Through this process, organizations can identify critical processes and functions; identify threats most likely to derail these functions; determine the vulnerability of
those functions and prioritize deployment of personnel and resources to ensure continuous operation of the process (Risk Assessment Matrix Process). With this
in mind, lets examine a potential risk assessment plan surrounding this activity. The critical process here is three-fold: Getting the President to the fund-raiser, protecting him while he makes his
