changing? The baby boomers are growing older, but instead of retiring from work, theyre either taking consulting jobs or taking part-time jobs. Some of this has to do with keeping
active, while others have the need for the funds. Meanwhile, the next age groups that are coming up, the Generation X, Generation Y and Millenials, expect certain things from their
place of work. Theyre not as loyal and are likely to job hop a great deal. What impact will the changes have on our operations? What were looking
at here is a very mobile workforce - on both ends. The baby boomer consultants are not necessarily going to have an "office" to work from; and given the job-hopping
culture of the younger generation, this means that there wont be a specific office base for long periods of time. But this means both of these groups need specific ways
to organize time, numbers and other information. Furthermore, all of these age groups are used to cell phones and being mobile, so its likely that land lines are going to
go out of style for telephones. Furthermore, with the current society, the line between work and home will tend to blur (Brown, 2010). What is the general attitude of society
about our industry, company and products? Basically, cell phones have moved from being a luxury item less than 15 years ago to being a necessity. Everyone has one. Even kids
who are in fourth grade have them. RIM isnt directing its products to the fourth-graders, of course. But it says a great deal about society that the cell phone is
now very important. As we indicated above, land lines for phones are likely to be obsolete in a few years. But cell phone users these days dont want just devices
