an organization in which employees are unmotivated. For purposes of this paper, the organization in question is a YMCA. Given there
isnt a specific Y in mind for this study, weve outlined the profile of a typical unmotivated organization in the next section. The student can "cherry pick" from the characteristics
of this lackadaisical organization to develop the profile of his/her particular YMCA. Typically, when conducting an analysis of this type among
an organization, a consultant would spend time with the management, chatting about everything from organizational mission to job descriptions. Other information the consultant would need is rate of turnover, average
age and education of the employees and the average hours per week worked. The consultant would also need to talk with
the employees (and assure them that their comments will be confidential). He/she would need to know about working conditions, why people work at the Y, and what they like/dont like
about it. Most Ys tend to employ younger people - typically older high school students, college students and those in their
20s. Most employees dont think of the Y as a full-time career, but rather, as a place to earn money in between school semesters. This could be one of the
