the children with a solid religious education and going to church regularly, as well as incorporating Scripture into everyday life. We are,
however, growing up in a different world than the generations that existed during the early to mid 20th century. These days, youth demand more than the assurance that "God is
watching over them." Many of todays youth are, understandably, skeptical. Their comments are that they arent their parents, that the world in which they live today is different, and that
the same old preaching just wont convince them that their religion is the "right" one. In addition, todays parents dont necessarily have the time to put religion first in their
lives. Therefore, its safe to say that many Christian youth today dont obtain their faith from home lives, which leaves the Church to cover that gap.
The church, however, has its own problems; such as lack of money and ever-increasing competition from more fun activities, such as sports, video games and time.
Todays youth are required to not only maintain high grade point averages in their classes, but also become involved with multiple extra curricular activities in school so as to get
into a "good" college, and therefore have a "good" life. Unfortunately, in these situations, religion tends to be on the bottom of the priority list.
Above all, church leaders seem to have difficulties in trying to decide how best to lure the next generation of youth to God. Many are trying new
things; rock music during services and a more relaxed and informal church setting on Sundays. In doing so, however, these pastors regularly run the criticisms of their counterparts, who believe
