the generosity of the firms quickly without examining corporate ethics. Three questions are posed by a student which are: Do successful profitable corporations have a moral duty to give
to charity in an effort to give back to the community? Do these types of corporations have an ethical responsibility to make these types of contributions? If in fact it
appears that corporations have either a moral obligation to give back to the community through charitable contributions, or an ethical responsibility, how does this affect the duty of the corporation
to profit for its shareholders? After all, it is the case that a corporation first and foremost must make profit for the stock holders. If the firm gives money away,
this could possibility impede profits. If in fact the answer is no to both questions, do corporations owe any obligation to society other than simply to obey the law? These
are good questions and the answer really falls within two possible outcomes. One may think that a corporation is obligated to the world community, while another may think it is
only obligated to its stake holders. In order to fully address the questions posed above, it is important to make a distinction between moral duty and ethical obligation. What is
the difference been these concepts? There is a fine line between morality and ethics. Ethics is the study of elements in society inclusive of morality, whereas morality is entrenched in
