the papers that look at this and make recommendations, but it is notable that unlike a general change where specific prescriptive model is provided, the general approach towards dealing with
a crisis often advocates a more flexible approach. Carmeli and Schaubroeck (2000), as argued that many of the crisis events will occur due to a direct failure of executives fail
to plan for foreseeable event. According to this model, it is necessary for organisations to anticipate crisis with forward planning and forecasting. For example, an organisation who is able to
look to the future and forecast the problems which will be faced as a result of a forthcoming recession that is expected will be better placed than the organisation who
faces crisis and has to react rather than strategise in a proactive manner. The process of forecasting will help to increase potential preparedness for crisis. However, it has been noted
by a number of theorists that where the forecasting is highly specific, for example planning only for a limited number of crisis types, the prescriptive approach can be constraining (Paraskevas,
2006). Forecasting is important, but so is the development of a crisis culture, which will facilitate change as it is required. This will also help to create a culture in
which appropriate responses may emerge timely. Where there are highly prescriptive model is associated with crisis management, they can constrain response, delaying recovery. More generalised approaches or facilitate managements ability
to deal with crisis. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that one could ever argue there is a single best approach towards the management of crisis and the way in
which change is implemented. However, the general characteristics will include elements which facilitate an overall appreciation of the potential crisis and create skills and resources which are needed to respond
