the future expatriate will complete will depend on the expected length of his overseas assignment. Level One lasts for only a week and covers basics of language, culture, customs
and currency to give the future expatriate enough working knowledge to function for several weeks. Level Three provides intensive training that includes all of the topics of Levels One
and Two, but goes into them in greater detail while also focusing on language. This level is for the future expatriate whose assignment is expected to last more than
a year. Level One: Information-Giving Approach. For an anticipated overseas stay of one month or less, a less rigorous training program of
less than a week is said to be sufficient. Future expatriates receive cultural information and "survival level" training in the language of the host country.
Level Two: Affective Approach. For overseas assignments of 2 - 12 months, more rigorous training is needed for a longer period of time, ranging from one
to four weeks. This training includes culture assimilator training; role-playing; information about culture shock and what to expect from it; and moderate language training (Gray and Larson, 2003).
Level Three: Experiential Approach. When an overseas assignment is expected to be more than one year, cross-cultural training needs to be at its
