watch both shows from beginning to end, hoping to glean insights for their own lives. Bono is a cultural icon too. While he is not the only rock star who
is politically motivated, his actions speak louder than mere rhetoric. Many celebrities rant over the unfairness of life, but Bono tries to effect peace in society. Even President Bush said
something to the effect that Bono is an amazing man. Cultural icons often are responsible for starting movements or at least supporting them. Madonnas spiritual journey for example has
translated to a new interest in Kabbalah. All icons shapes values by contributing ideas which are integrated into the larger society. A celebrity may take a stance on a matter
and prompt ordinary people to change their own personal positions. Michael Moore has been effective to this end with the use of film. Others have done it with lyrics, actions
or the written word. 2) Who is your favorite cultural icon and why? Oprah Winfrey is my favorite cultural icon. She is
very spiritual and does not close doors to anything. While she supports certain individuals who are propelled to fame, she does this spontaneously. Nothing is contrived. When James Frey was
