In the end, authors explain that the study had been a way of investigating the effectiveness of one type of leadership initiative in order to provide " professional formation activities to prospective school leaders" (Busch, OBrien & Spangler, 2005, p.95). In many ways, authors are successful, but they do reach out to a broad territory. That is, rather than honing one particular niche, they branch out to two areas: management and education. This is a significant undertaking. Again, while it works to an extent, the article might have been more relevant had it focused on one area. The conclusions reached by authors suggest that the program had been effective at various levels of the Kirkpatrick framework in relation to the evaluation of effectiveness of the training program (Busch, OBrien & Spangler, 2005). Authors further conclude that the activities employed are useful in addressing issues that are aligned with both quantity and quality of candidates as it respects a leadership position (Busch, OBrien & Spangler, 2005). This is an important observation. The article does provide a good framework with which to evaluate leadership paradigms. However, it fails to provide simple strategies to employ in the real world. Yet, Busch, OBrien & Spangler (2005) have been somewhat successful at evaluating various models related to their topic of choice. Finally, authors claim that the findings are significant in respect to implementation, development and evaluation of leadership endeavors (Busch, OBrien & Spangler, 2005). This is once again, something with a broad reach. It appears that authors do enjoy this way of exploring the topic of management, but there are limitations when such a broad topic is chosen.
