often and tries to get young Benjamin into "plastics." Indeed, plastics was purportedly the wave of the future, and as it turns out, todays world is one that relies on
the creation of disposable items that do rely on plastics. It seems that it is a disposable world and the plastics industry has likely risen above most businessmens expectations.
The history of the plastics industry, and quality control within it, is long and vast. The business has always had safety issues and quality was not always good, but things
had improved throughout the years. The most important developments in the industry had in fact occurred since 1910 ("History," 2001). That said, the roots of the industry go all the
way back to developments which occurred during the 1860s when plastic-like compositions were created (2001). There have however always been some materials like plastic and these go back in
history quite a bit. In fact, one can find information on such references as far back as the Old (2001). In modern plastics history, one should
note that cellulose acetate had been developed about the same time as the urea-based resins, something that was found to be safer to process as well as to use ("History,"
2001). It seems that around this time, plastics were being created in a safe manner, and the products were also safer. This means that shortly after the turn of the
century, there would be attention to quality. Later on, linear low density polyethylene would be created (2001). That was in 1978 and the large-scale production of such materials
