those who commit these acts are dealt with by the full extent of the law. In fact, many of these same governments use time and financial resources to try and
fight public corruption. However, because public corruption runs rife in some countries, some have argued that there must be some benefit to it. In addition, they go further by saying
that while public corruption should be scorned no matter how it is practiced, in some countries it is seen as an inevitable side effect of development. They claim public corruption
is basically a Western concept and has no relevance in traditional societies where corruption is not necessarily viewed in a negative light. In other words, many societies have a different
understanding of what public leaders should be entitled to and while Western nations view this as corruption, these societies consider it a normal state of affairs. They feel their leaders
are entitled to gifts and rewards because of the services they offer and the time they put in for their constituents. This essay will address public corruption even further while
relaying my opinion on the subject and the issues mentioned earlier. In Myints 2000 essay, "Corruption: Causes, Consequences and Cures," the author stresses the impact public corruption can have on
