Personal Role Behavior or Situation Families offer many examples of situations where behavioral intervention could be of value. I remember my
own mother, for example, fighting with my brother and I over keeping our rooms clean. My room was usually semi-organized and clean but my brothers room was always a
wreck. Interestingly, my mother unknowingly employed what I now know was behavioral therapy to institute behavioral changes in my brother. If I were a mother in that same
situation, a situation where it was necessary to change my childs views of what was an acceptable level of organization and cleanliness in their room, I would follow her lead
but I would do so with the names of the actual psychological theories in mind. The purpose of this paper will be to outline the approach I would take
to accomplish this goal. Description and Analysis Children
typically behave in a manner that requires the least effort and thought. They live in a state of inertia. The consequence, too often, is a messy room.
