Psychological literary criticism has evolved into a widely accepted method of comprehending the mysteries of the human mind. When students write an original story or play and then compose
psychoanalytic commentary based upon what they have written, connections can be easily made between the terminology and the actions taking place. What may at first appear to be random
or disjointed suddenly starts making sense. I. A Short Story It is recommended that the student who is researching psychoanalysis and writing may wish to take this sample
approach. However, there are many theories of psychoanalysis and an infinite number of ways in which to fictionalize their representation. This story consists of a first person female
narrator. There is little in terms of physical action, and the plot is driven entirely by the narrators personal observations. Her truthfulness depends on the readers belief in
