The Psalmist proclaims that God is his hope, his rock, his fortress and his salvation and he asks that God will make him strong and make him successful against his
enemies. The Psalmist is in immediate danger at the time but he still trusts God to deliver him. Outline I. Davids Faith A. David testifies to his
belief about what will defend him. 1. His salvation lies in God alone. He says that his soul belongs to God and that it is from God that he will
gain salvation. 2. His security is also in God alone. David testifies that as long as he believes in God and trusts God that God will always be his
strength. B. David discusses the danger he is facing. He does not name the people who are threatening him but it is commonly thought that it may have been Sauls
family. II. David gives himself or his soul advice in order to follow god. A. He tells his soul that to be saved, it must be still, sure and strong.
It must not try to hasten Gods work. III. David tells the people that they, too, need to trust in God just as he himself does. A. David explains that
