utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. (KJV, Psalm 37:23-24). Man has two choices in life, we can follow Gods will and allow Him to order
our steps or we can order our own steps using our own will. The second option is not a wise one. Scripture clearly tells us that good men always acts
to delight God and we know that He will protect us. The first sentence tells us that God is ordering our actions and that He delights, He is pleased with
His way and our obedience. The second sentence tells us that if we follow the will of God, He will always protect us. We may trip, stumble and fall but
God will never let us fall completely, He will hold us up with His own hand. Job even tells us that God numbers our steps but He does not
count our sins (Job 14:16). Proverbs 16:9 also tells us that " A mans heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps." Job repeats that God numbers our
steps in 31:4 and also repeats that God knows everything we do (Job 34:21), a declaration we find often in the Bible, e.g., Proverbs 5:21 says, "For the ways of
man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings." We need to consider the first words in this Psalm: God has already "ordered" our steps.
He has not suggested them, He has not just directed our steps, He has ordered them. The word order is much stronger than any other word that could be used
