objectified based on their sexuality alone as opposed to total individuals whose sexuality is but one component. Supporters of prostitution contend that
prostitution does not degrade women, rather it is the individual actions of all human beings that either are, or are not, degrading because of their ability to be in synch
with social norms 1. In other words, because our society deems prostitution to not be a positive experience, the actions of prostitutes are therefore categorized as amoral and degrading
2. However, it will become apparent that while this may be the case to some extent, the degradation of prostitution is based upon inherent characteristics of prostitution rather than
societal moral norms. The degradation of women who are prostitutes is part of a larger ethical view of human behavior that

degradation that is associated with prostitution, and while Christ himself accepted the prostitute, he also encouraged her to reform her ways 8.
