The past ten years have made a remarkable decade in terms of our understanding of the prostate. This of course has been driven by the tremendous
number and severity of prostate medical problems. Still, most of what we want to know about the prostate at a molecular and physiologic level remains unknown. Even basic concepts regarding
prostate anatomy have changed recently. A mans prostate gland is a solid organ found immediately below his bladder, and
it surrounds the "urethra" -- which is the tube connecting the bladder and the penis through which a man urinates. The other important parts of the male urogenital system are
the seminal vesicles and the testicles. The prostate has two important functions: one is to help control
