surrogate mother to have their child. There are, ultimately, many reasons people turn to surrogacy for having children and as such it is a topic that has many pros and
cons. There are the pros and cons of the moral or religious aspects of the practice, pros and cons to the social implications, and then the pros and cons to
choosing surrogacy at all. The following paper examines surrogacy and some of the many pros and cons involved. Pros and Cons of Surrogacy The pros and cons to
be discussed first are those that apply to the practice in general, putting aside religious or social elements. Clearly the biggest pro to the practice is that a couple can
have a child that is their biological child. This happens when a mans sperm is connected with the womans egg. In many cases this is done and then the fertilized
egg is implanted in the surrogate mothers womb. In such a case a married couple who was not able to have their own child, with the woman carrying the fetus,
is able to have their own infant. This, of course, applies to heterosexual couples for there must be a sperm and an egg which can only come from one man
and one woman. In these cases, putting aside any religious or social implications, a man would donate his sperm to the process or a woman would donate her egg for
a surrogate mother. In these respects the major benefit is that a couple who could not have a child of their own through any other means would be able
