just two of such topics, and they are clearly topics that have gained a great deal of attention in the media. The following paper analyzes two articles on each topic,
presenting pros and cons to the topic. Animal Experimentation: Article #1 The first article on this topic is by Global Action Network and is titled Whats Wrong With
Testing on Animals? As the title seems to suggest the article illustrates why animal testing is wrong. The article begins with an example of why it is wrong, offering
their clear moral and personal bias, through illustrating how animals are hurt in the process: "Every year, millions of animals are poisoned, blinded, and killed in crude tests to
evaluate the toxicity of consumer products and their ingredients. Rats, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, and other animals are forced to swallow or inhale huge quantities of a test substance or
endure the pain of a chemical eating away at their sensitive eyes and skin" (Global Action Network, 2008). The article then notes that animal testing is not really necessary
any longer because of advances in science and technology. It is also noted that animal testing does little to really demonstrate how products will act, or react, with humans as
all animals react differently to products. The article does not appear to offer any vague or ambiguous statements for any claim they make they follow up with examples of
why their statement is accurate. In addition, the essay seems credible for it is simple, tells truths most people know, or would know if they thought about it, and presents
a very simple and straightforward argument. There does not appear to be any obvious use of rhetorical devices, other than straightforward statements.
