commodified no differently than other forms of unwaged labor, however, the social stigma long attached to this particular type of service work changes ones conception for the worse. Attaching
the word work to prostitution only serves to confuse the already muddled attitudes about this way of living when, in fact, it is no different from myriad other forms of
feminized labor (Sangera, 1997). Nevada brothels represent the best example for legalizing and regulating prostitution, with governmental supervision responsible for establishing rules and making sure the women abide by them
(Anonymous, no date). That this particular enterprise does not allow for any kind of personal freedom as far as the prostitutes go cannot be of significant concern to the
larger picture, inasmuch as the entire objective of legalized prostitution is to maintain control over an otherwise rampant industry. Moreover, the safeguards inherent to government-run brothels ensures decreased spread
of sexually transmitted diseases. Decriminalizing prostitution is another consideration in the war on illegal sex work, which would allow for any private, consenting adult to partake of commercial sex without
fear of being arrested. As such, solicitation would fall under the auspices of regulation as it already exists for other public activity, thereby providing a protective shield against prostitution
