aspects of the business. One winner developed new methods for solving problems in the organization. This program fosters constant innovations in the company (Malanowski, 2007). This is an example of
incentives for innovations that work and a program that works. Training and education are often necessary to open peoples minds to their creative sides. One theory proposes there are three
components related to creativity: knowledge, motivation and creative thinking (Adams, 2005). Knowledge refers to the expertise a person has, creative thinking is about how flexible a person is and motivation
is about how much passion and interest the person has (Adams, 2005). Thus, training and education will increase an employees knowledge. A simple process for obtaining innovative ideas is brainstorming.
The group needs training in the method. There are also numerous educational and training programs to help employees become more creative which will lead to more innovations. Nnanna (2009) wrote
that innovation requires "persistent teamwork focused on gradual improvement in delivering value to the company" (p. 2). Innovation must be managed, though, because too much innovation can place a company
in chaos. Durk Jager, former CEO of Proctor & Gamble placed so much emphasis on innovation that led to a decline in profits and lowered morale (Nnanna, 2009). Lafley,
the new CEO of P&G tempered innovation with a focus on getting new products to the market more quickly. The company continues to innovate but innovation is one part of
