a performer contract. In the creation of a performer contract, there are three basic legal concepts that come into play when creating the general elements of the
agreement: good faith, quid pro quo, and breach of contract. When creating a contract, the basic assumption inherent in the development of its contents is that each of
the individuals are entering their agreement in good faith, and that their agreement represents a desire by the participants to define a relationship that is based on a transfer of
monetary gains for a service, in this case, a performance. This transfer of money for the services falls under the concept of quid pro quo, and defines the give
and take of the performer/promoter relationship. Linked to this, then, is also the concept of breach of contract, and the belief that a contract in place protects the interests
of either party of one should break the contract by violating its terms. These legal concepts, though, form the basis for the contract between a performer and
a promoter, but the exact language of a contract can vary significantly. Often times, contracts include language that can define expectations of the performer, needs of the performer, and
requirements by either party for entering into the contractual agreement. Assessing these separate elements, then, provides an interesting basis for considering issues of good faith, quid pro quo and
