such book series, however, Myron is a character that Coben has written novels about prior to this one. In this book it seems that Myron has been on something of
a break for several years, and then pops back into the literary world with a new mystery. The following paper summarizes a scene from the novel and reviews the work.
Promise Me Cobens novel is a book filled with many intriguing scenes, and to ultimately say one scene is the best is a difficult task. For this particular
reader, however, opening scenes are often the most important for they set the stage to a book and either make the reader want to know more, or incite the reader
to set the book aside, never to open it again. In Cobens case the opening scene is very intriguing and presents the reader with an interest to find out what
is going on. As such it is the opening scene that seems to be one of the best. In the opening scene there is a broadcast about a missing
girl. A woman, Edna who is in her 60s, realizes she has just seen this missing girl walk past her. Cobel illustrates how Edna has always had a thing for
faces, "Studying faces was more than a hobby with Edna...Faces were her life" (Coben Chapter 1). Edna realizes that the girl who walked past her did not have the same
hair or outward appearance, but she was certain it was her. This older woman begins running to catch up with the girl, and the man that was walking with the
