and terms of the utilization of my skills, I do not see myself working behind the counter for the rest of my life. In fact, I believe that the
greatest use of my talents will be in an administrative job, one in which I become an integral part of a management team. I need to further my education
and pursue an MBA degree in order to have the necessary background for this kind of position. My goals are based in
my desire to pursue personal gains and to make a "better life" for myself. My parents relocated from Dubai when I was a junior in high school (approximately 10
years ago) and struggled significantly to make a life for myself and my sister. My mother never attended college and was committed to the "old ways," believing that she
should not pursue education and her husband should support her. Though she was a role model for me, she never kept me from pursuing my own educational goals.
I graduated from high school with a 94% average and received a scholarship to my undergraduate program. My success in school from an early age made me realize that
I would not simply complete college and marry; my goals for a career, for personal development and for the pursuit of an extended education, were evident from an early age.
My long-term professional objective is to secure an MBA degree as a basis for becoming a part of management in
the pharmaceutical industry or in health care. I believe that an MBA at New York University will give me the tools to be an effective part of a management
