unpleasant, boring or frustrating or even something we resent doing (Pychyl, March, 2008). Some researchers have found that if we procrastinate beginning a project, once we get involved in it,
we may enjoy it and look forward to working on it. Procrastination has also been linked to personality type. One personality trait that has been linked to procrastination is
low conscientiousness (Pychyl, April, 2008). Lack of self-discipline and a lack of organization have been linked to procrastination, as well. Worry, anxiety, fear of failure and feelings of vulnerability may
also be linked to procrastination. When long-term projects are the activity that needs to get done, people may be overwhelmed or they may have trouble planning how to go
about completing the project. As soon as they can get trough the planning stage, they may find they enjoy the actual activities associated with completing the project. In projects and
in short-term tasks, if a person is shy and does not know how to go about doing whatever needs to be done, they may procrastinate because they do not want
to ask someone else to clarify what needs to be accomplished (Pychyl, April, 2008). Procrastination usually has very negative consequences. This is especially true if the person habitually procrastinates. Tips
for overcoming this habit depend on exactly why the person procrastinates. If a person is disorganized, they can do things that will help this problem. For instance, they can develop
prioritized lists of things they need to do and when they need to be done. This will lead to developing steps that must be taken to accomplish each task or
