The purpose here is to "Discuss and evaluate the process (or transmission) model of communication." Process Model of Communications The process or transmission model of communications is one in which there is a linear flow of information from the sender to the receiver. It involves the sender, the message and the receiver. In the transmission model, the message is one that is transported over distance. It is not one that occurs between individuals in visual proximity of each other. In the case of a political speech being delivered to a gathered audience and also being carried over the airwaves to others not physically present, the transmission model applies to those hearing the speech at a remote location. Effective communication requires a certain degree of redundancy - speaker trainers often instruct students that they need to tell the audience what they will be saying; deliver their message; and then tell the audience what they have said. All of these approaches to conveying the central message must arrive in different forms, of course. Otherwise, the audience will conceive the pattern merely as the speaker repeating himself.
